My recovery up to now has been uneventful. I haven't needed any painkillers since day 5 and that was only because I carried out taking what they gave me at the hospital. There have been no problems at all other that the usual itching. I haven't really been in any pain and have been able to get about carefully using the shoe given at the hospital.
Today I had my dressing removed and stitches (one long stitch really) taken out. I must admit I did go a little woozy then the nurse (who wasn't exactly friendly and could have done with brushing up on her bedside manner) took off the dressing.
My foot is still quite bruised and the scar is bigger than I thought.
My foot now feels very vulnerable now all the padding has been taken off and is very tender. I have a small dressing which I have to leave on for a couple of days just to protect where the stitches have been as apparently they go in quite deep. I am hoping that in time the scar, once it has faded, won't look too bad.
I was hoping that I would be able to get my UGG boot on but it is too tender to slip the boot on so for now I am still in the hospital shoe.
